Event: May 14, 2014, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

On May 14 at 7 pm, the Castleton Free Library will host a reading, discussion and book signing. Martha Molnar, a regular commentator on Vermont Public Radio, has a new and lovely book of her essays, Taproot: Coming Home to Prairie Hill. The book has won praise from our Vermont Poet Laureate, Sidney Lea, and from Bill McKibben. It weaves several strands back and forth, childhood memories of living under the shadow of the Holocaust, moving from place to place, working and raising a family in an urban setting, then finally putting down roots on the high hill in Castleton where she and her husband built a house. In this place they became deeply involved in the community. In addition to becoming a VPR commentator, Martha chairs the popular Science Pub series and Friends of the Castleton Free Library.

After the reading there will be copies of Taproot available to buy and have signed. There will be goodies, coffee and tea and time to talk. The event is free and open to the public. If you have questions, call Meg or Jan at 468-5574 or email castletonfreelibrary@gmail.com.
